Embark on a breathtaking 14-day adventure through Morocco’s stunning desert landscapes, from Marrakech to the vast dunes of Chegaga. Experience a true nomadic journey with camel caravans, camp under starry skies, and explore ancient kasbahs like Ait Benhaddou and Tamnougalt. Traverse dramatic plateaus, golden sand dunes, and hidden mountain oases while immersing yourself in Berber culture with traditional meals, music, and storytelling around campfires. This unforgettable expedition blends adventure, nature, and cultural discovery for an authentic taste of the Moroccan desert.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival at Marrakech airport and transfer to your Riad for the night.
Day 2
Morning transfer to Zagora, lunch en route at the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah with a visit, then a 4×4 transfer to the caravan departure point at Brtam (dune area).
Day 3
After breakfast, the caravan sets off on a grand expedition to the south, crossing a large part of the Hamada of the Draa, with its dunes and desert plateaus. Lunch will be taken under the acacia trees. In the evening, the campsite will be set up at Dayt Louted among the sand dunes.
Day 4
A new sunrise awaits, giving you time to admire it from the top of the dunes. After breakfast, departure towards Arigat Taieb, crossing plateaus and dunes at the caravan’s pace. Lunch will be taken under the Tamaris trees. The evening will be spent camping in the dunes, enjoying the desert atmosphere, a campfire, Berber songs, and a demonstration of baking bread under the sand and on stones.
Day 5
Departure from Arigat Taieb towards Arig Smar, a sea of sand dunes where you will spend the night. You can participate in activities such as collecting wood, preparing meals, and enjoying music.
Day 6
After breakfast, departure from Arig Smar. The journey continues with a climb to Erg Sedra, crossing the Hamada. A stop is planned along the way under wild vegetation for lunch and a well-deserved rest.
Day 7
Today’s destination is Chegaga, the “sea of sands,” where you will spend your sixth night in the desert. Enjoy the desert ambiance, tea around the fire, songs, and storytelling—an unforgettable experience.
Day 8
Witness the magnificent sunrise over the high dunes, followed by a Berber breakfast at the foot of the dunes. The caravan continues its journey, with a two-hour walk and climb before stopping for lunch. You will then arrive at Hnina, near a well and a plateau full of Tamaris trees, where you will spend the night.
Day 9
Journey from Hnina to Labbas, following a mountain route. The bivouac will be set up for the night in a different landscape.
Day 10
After breakfast, the journey continues through the mountains to Diabi. The campsite will be set up in an oasis in the mountains, offering a new scenery. As every evening, a traditional meal will be served, with freshly baked bread made by the nomads. Your night will be animated by the camel drivers with music under a starry sky.
Day 11
Departure from Diabi towards Oumlachar, where the night will be spent at the foot of Djebel Bani.
Day 12
After breakfast, 4x4s will transfer you to Zagora, where you will check into a dream guesthouse for a well-deserved rest, enjoying a night of comfort and relaxation.
Day 13
Transfer to Marrakech, with a visit to Tamnougalt Kasbah and lunch en route before continuing to Marrakech. Overnight at the Riad.
Day 14
Transfer to the airport and end of our services.
